The Sany SY365 is a large hydraulic crawler excavator positioned in the 35-tonne operating weight class. It is manufactured by Sany, one of the largest construction equipment producers globally, and competes directly with established European and Japanese brands in the heavy excavation segment. The machine is designed for high-productivity earthmoving and heavy-duty civil engineering applications.
Excavators in the 35-tonne class are well suited to large-scale earthmoving, bulk excavation for infrastructure projects, and heavy quarrying or demolition support work. They are commonly deployed on road and rail construction sites, deep foundation work, and large utility trenching projects where high digging force and reach are required.
When inspecting a used SY365 or any machine in this class, buyers should prioritise a full hydraulic system assessment, checking for seal wear, cylinder condition, and hose integrity. Undercarriage components including track pads, rollers, and sprockets represent a significant cost centre on large crawler excavators and should be carefully measured for wear. Service history documentation, fluid analysis records, and verification of scheduled maintenance intervals are essential. A pre-purchase inspection by an independent engineer familiar with large hydraulic excavators is strongly recommended before committing to any transaction.
Available market data places the Sany SY365 at a European market average of EUR 115,000, with the current documented price range also sitting at EUR 115,000. This positions the SY365 as a competitively priced alternative to equivalent 35-tonne machines from Caterpillar, Komatsu, Volvo, and Hitachi, where comparable units typically command higher price points, reflecting the cost advantage Sany has built its European market entry around.
