The Komatsu PC360 is a 35-tonne class hydraulic excavator, produced continuously since 2002 and currently in its PC360-11 generation. It is powered by a Komatsu SAA6D114E-6 engine producing 257 hp and operates a 1.6 m³ standard bucket with a maximum digging force of 24,500 kg. The PC360 suits projects where a 20-tonne machine lacks sufficient volume and a 50+ tonne machine is oversized. The PC360-11 includes KOMTRAX Plus telematics and an optional intelligent Machine Control grade control system.

German road and motorway contractors use the PC360 for bulk topsoil stripping, drainage channel excavation, and deep foundation work on bridge abutments. Dutch harbour and waterway contractors deploy it for dredging and dock excavation, often with a long-reach arm and wide dredging bucket. Belgian contractors use it on large industrial estate earthworks, where its bucket capacity and reach allow efficient loading of 30-tonne dump trucks in one or two passes.

At 36,000 kg, the PC360 places significant forces on its undercarriage. Inspect track frames for cracks near idler and sprocket mounts. Check track link pitch measurement: elongation above 3% means chain replacement is imminent. The main hydraulic pump and swing motor are the most expensive components to replace. Request hydraulic pressure test data and oil sample analysis. Inspect boom and arm cylinder rod surfaces carefully for scoring and seal leaks.

The German and Dutch markets show the strongest demand, driven by infrastructure and waterway maintenance programmes.
