Who we are
CompareMachinery.com (“we”, “us”) operates a used-equipment deal-finding service for European buyers. For GDPR purposes, we are the data controller for any personal data you submit on this site.
What we collect
- Email address — when you request a shortlist of below-market deals.
- Machine brief — the make, model, and any preferences you tell us you’re shopping for.
- Site analytics — aggregated, privacy-friendly analytics (no cookies, no cross-site tracking). We do not use Google Analytics or advertising pixels.
How we use it
- To send you the shortlist you requested, with direct dealer links.
- To follow up with market updates related to the machine you asked about (you can unsubscribe at any time from any email).
- To improve our coverage and scraping priorities in aggregate.
We do not sell your email to third parties. We do not share your brief with dealers. The dealer only sees you when you click their link and contact them directly.
Legal basis (GDPR)
We process your email on the basis of your explicit consent (you submitted it to request a shortlist). You can withdraw consent at any time by replying “unsubscribe” to any email or emailing privacy@comparemachinery.com.
Where we store data
Lead data is stored in a managed Postgres database in the EU (Neon, EU region). Email dispatch uses Resend (EU/US). Site hosting is on Cloudflare Pages.
How long we keep it
We keep lead records for up to 24 months after your last email interaction so we can follow up on market changes for the machine you asked about. After that, records are deleted. You can request deletion at any time.
Your rights
Under GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you
- Request correction or deletion
- Object to processing or withdraw consent
- Lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority

Cookies
We do not use marketing, advertising, or analytics cookies. We may use a minimal functional cookie to remember your session state; this does not require consent under the ePrivacy Directive.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and, for material changes, notify active subscribers by email.
